What is the "Darling Float Trip"?
Floating the Guadalupe River is a laid-back summer tradition. We'll float downstream in a tube at an easy, leisurely pace, spending a few hours relaxing, drinking refreshments, and enjoying the Hill Country scenery.
The water is refreshing and the vibe is casual. It's about having fun - no experience needed.
How does the float trip work?
Hideout sits right along the Guadalupe River, so our cabins are directly on the floating route.
Hideout will shuttle us upriver, and we'll float back for about 4 hours (depending on the current)—ending right back at our cabins.
What should I wear and bring for the float trip?
Wear swimsuits! The river stays cool year-round (mid-60s to low-70s).
Alcohol is permitted on the river for those 21+, but ONLY USE REUSABLE, NON-DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS ARE ALLOWED. This is due to extreme pollution that occurred with empty plastic bottles and cans. PLEASE BRING 2 REUSABLE BOTTLES PER PERSON so you can have one for water and one for another beverage (no glass though!) - grab your favorite Yetis, Stanleys, Hydro Flasks, or whatever is cool these days.
Hideout will provide transportation, tubes, ice, and coolers. We'll provide adult beverages for your containers. Bring your favorite water shoes, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, speakers, snacks/drinks, and anything else you'd want for a relaxed river float.

What exactly is "summer dressy casual" for the wedding?
The ceremony and reception will be outdoors near the riverside, so light, breathable fabrics, and comfortable shoes are key.
Sundresses, lightweight dresses, linen shirts and pants, and shoes without a heel are all great options. Suits are not required—Texas summers are hot. Dress comfortably and don't overthink it!
There is a link at the bottom of this page to The Knot's guide on dressing for a casual wedding.
What exactly is "casual" for the Darling After Party?
Texas BBQ will be served. We'll be on our own for this event. Drinks will be available, but we'll all be our own bartenders! Come ready with your favorite karaoke song.
Dress casual—we'll be fresh off the river, so come comfy, relaxed, and ready to party.
